ROSKOMNADZOR TAKES MEASURES TO PROTECT THE MOVIE “SKIF” FROM THE INTERNET PIRACY

Within the “anti-piracy” law Roskomnadzor continues to take measures to protect the intellectual property of domestic film producers. Based on the definitions of the Moscow city court Roskomnadzor sent requirements for the removal of pirated copies of the film “SKIF” to 151 Internet resources.

Currently, pirated copies of movies removed from 120 resources, and expected to be removed from 23 sites more. Operators block eight Internet resources that have not stopped access to pirated copies of films.

In 2017, Roskomnadzor received more than 1.2 thousand definitions of the Moscow city court of preliminary measures aimed at protecting copyright and related rights on the Internet. The greatest number of definitions concerned the protection of rights to cinematographic production. In particular, Roskomnadzor has taken steps to limit access to pirate sites with premieres of local films “Arrhythmia”, “The Legend of the Kolowrat”, “Gravity”(Prityazhenie), “Time of the First”(Vremya Pervih), “Bolshoy”, “Krym”, “Salyut-7”, “Gogol”, “Upward Movement” (Dvizhenie Vverh) as well as American film “Interview with Putin” and the popular TV series “Game of Thrones”, “Twin Peaks”.
