AMEDIATEKA SUMMARIZES THE PRELIMINARY RESULTS OF THE YEAR

The income and audience of the service grew by 80% in 2017, and the most popular TV shows were “Game of thrones”, “Young Pope” and “Big little lies”.

In 2017, the financial points of AMEDIA TV Company continued to grow steadily. The growth of income of Amediateka in relation to the results of the pre-2016 will be about 80%, while the share of online service in total income of the company is 60%.

The cult fantasy Saga “Game of Thrones” has once again topped the annual TOP 10 by number of views by users, and the day of the premiere of the seventh season on July 17 – was the “main day” and the absolute leader of the year by views. On the second place was Paolo Sorrentino with “Young Pope”. “Big little lies” by Jean-Marc Vallée closes the top three. “Sex and the city” remains the most popular classic serial; from Russian TV series leader of the year became “Optimists” by Alexei Popogrebsky. In the second place there is the recent hit by Konstantin Khabensky – “Trotsky”.

On average over the 2017 each subscriber of Amediateka watched 88 episodes of TV series.

Among the most anticipated releases of the coming year is the final season of the Scandinavian “Bridge”, amazing footage of the underwater world in 4K format in the series “Blue planet 2”, the sequel to “Divorce” with Sarah Jessica Parker, “American crime story: the Killing of Gianni Versace”, the new project of Steven Soderbergh “Mosaic”, the continuation of such hits as “Homeland”, “Billions”, “The Lovers” and, of course, the new season of “West World”.

During the year AMEDIA TV Company has renegotiated deals with key content providers and has expanded its exclusive portfolio. In July, the online service Amediateka and package of channels AMEDIA Premium HD received the status of “HOME OF HBO” after signing a multi-year deal providing exclusive rights to broadcast all new HBO projects, as well as unlimited access to the library of the Studio. In addition, deal with other studios were renegotiated and extended – with CBS, Fox, Sony, BBC.

The first joint recap show of Amediateka and social network “Vkontakte” named “Spoilernaya” came on air in 2017. Each part of the first season dedicated to the continuation of the fantasy drama “Game of Thrones” has risen over a million views. The second season is set to launch in spring 2018.

Exclusive content of AMEDIA TV is becoming more available across the country. During the year the audience of TV channels and online service Amediateka Home of HBO has shown steady growth due to expansion of partnerships with leading pay-TV operators. Section Amediateka appeared in STB-consoles of digital TV in MTS and MGTS, in OTT application of NTV-PLUS and Tele2. From December 1 TV package of AMEDIA Premium HD became available for the subscribers of NTV-PLUS in Siberia and in the Far East. Four channels of AMEDIA TV and Amediateka have been added to the Basic TV package of Rostelecom by “Year of Movies” action; channels A1 and A2 have been included in the Basic TV package of MTS TV. This year Amediateka first appeared in Kazakhstan – in Beeline and Kcell mobile operators; in Belarus – in operator of cellular communication and digital TV, Velcom, on the platform of the online cinema VOKA TV.
