Thursday — is a day of cinema Premier in Russia. Most often in the evening of the same day or the next day — on Friday, first screen copy appears in Network. The most common are two types of screen copies: CAMRip and TS.CAMRip – copy taken in full cinema hall, usually of poor quality, because the image contains noise and extraneous noise, for example, the voices of the audience. TS – is a higher quality screen copy shot in an empty cinema hall or operator’s cabin.

The problem is relevant not only for Russia, but, according to the report of the international Alliance of intellectual property, in Russia it is growing from year to year at a great pace.

On March 6, 2018, Kevin Rosenbaum, representative of the international Alliance of intellectual property, delivered a report to the US Commission on international trade on copyright issues in a number of countries. Three areas in fight against piracy in Russia were identified: improving legal mechanisms to combat online piracy, the solution to the problems of communities of copyright, which lack transparency and good governance, and fight against illegal screen copies. The problem of creating screen copies of films is very relevant for film industry: for example, in 2016, copies of 503 films of the American Association of film companies were created. In 2017 trend`s recession was recorded: 447 movies were copied.

However, in Russia there is an increase in the trend. Despite measures to control illegal shooting in cinemas, the number of screen copies taken in Russia has increased by 200% since 2015. According to the international Alliance of intellectual property, Russian screen copies are of high quality, and therefore in demand among pirates. One of the measures to fight against them is to tight the law.
