RUSSIAN MARKET OF ONLINE VIDEO ADVERTISING INCREASED BY 26% IN 2017

According to the data of online advertising seller Gazprom-Media Digital (GPMD), in 2017 Russian market of online video advertising grew by 25.8% and amounted to 8.3 billion rubles. Representatives of the company told this to “Roem!”. In 2018, growth will slow down and will be about 20%, which will not prevent the market of video ads to approach the mark of 10 billion rubles.

GPMD note that desktop computer has stopped being the main thing to watch Internet video for Russians. In 2017, those who watched videos on desktop became 9% less than a year earlier. The size of mobile video audience has caught up with the same figure for desktop computers and has exceeded 26 million people. However, this did not lead to a proportional increase in the cost of advertisers for advertising on mobile devices: brands spent about 20% of money on it or 1.6 billion rubles. In 2018, this segment may show an increase of 100%, and its volume may exceed 3 billion rubles.
