In the framework of “anti-piracy” law based on two definitions of the Moscow city court Roskomnadzor has received requests from the rights holders to provide the protection of exclusive rights to the film “The Last Hero” (“Posledniy Bogatir”).

Measures are being taken against 176 online resources that distribute pirated copies of the film with the violation of copyright. Roskomnadzor has sent notifications to the hosting providers and website owners to remove illegal content.

Currently, illegal content removed from 24 resources, and will be removed from other 138 websites. The access to other Internet resources is restricted on permanent basis by operators in connection with the previous decisions of the Moscow city court and the Ministry of communications (Ministry takes decisions about “mirrors”).

In 2017, Roskomnadzor has received more than 1,100 definitions of the Moscow city court on preliminary injunctive measures aimed at protecting copyright and related rights on the Internet.

The main number of definitions related to the protection of rights in cinematographic production. In particular, Roskomnadzor has taken steps to limit access to pirate sites showing the premiere of local films “Gravity”(Prityazhenie), “Time of the first” (Vremya Pervih), “Bolshoy”, “Interview with Putin”, “Crimea”, “Salyut-7”, “Gogol”, as well as popular American series “Game of thrones”, “Twin Peaks” and “The Good wife”.

Norms and requirements on protection of intellectual property rights on the Internet are stipulated in articles 15.2, 15.6, 15.6-1 and 15.7 of the Federal law “On information, information technologies and protection of information”. The law allows copyright holders to protect any type of multimedia content from illegal distribution in the Network, with the exception of photos. The Moscow city court makes decision to restrict access to pirated Internet resources.
