Online cinema ivi announced the launch of updated application for desktops, laptops, tablets and hybrids 2-in-1 (“notebook-tablets” and “tablet-books”) on Windows 10. Ivi appl ication for Windows 8/10 has existed for two years, but the developers promise that the new version will be significantly different from the previous one.

It took 5 months to develop the new product, during this time the team has completely rethought the design, which is made according to the concept of Fluent Design System. Among the significant changes is the possibility of using the mini-player in “always-on-top” way, in “minimized” player, a small window above all other windows. According to the team, the previous version was a clone of Smart TV apps. New version is adapted for Windows. Team of online cinema is sure in the success of the new release and says that ivi for Windows 10 is not only more functional but also aesthetically pleasing: “We wanted to make it beautiful, though it will look at least not worse than on iOS/Android. Just because we can”, says Viacheslav Klimentyev, head of development of Windows in the online cinema ivi.

The idea of re-designing has existed for a long time; the announcement of a Fluent Design from Microsoft in the spring of 2017 became an important factor for active work on the application. Technologically the simplest solution was to borrow the interface design, but the team of ivi decided to make it differently and made updating more convenient for users.

Re-design of the application for Windows 10 became the first of the updates of its products planned by service. In the near future, ivi plans to make an update of all available product platforms. Today online cinema ivi is available on Android, iPhone/iPad/iPod, LG Smart TV, Samsung Smart TV, Sony Smart TV, Philips Smart TV, Toshiba Smart TV, Apple TV.
